Fire Technology is one of FLC's new programs

Fire Technology is one of FLC's new programs

Folsom Lake College is proud to announce several new career options, as the college recently received official word from the State System Office that several new degree and certificate programs were approved.

These cutting-edge career programs were developed in consultation with faculty, administration, community, and industry leaders and processed through the District’s curriculum and program approval process. Extensive research was done on which career programs were appropriate for the communities Folsom Lake College serves, as well as which new careers were most promising in the future workplace.

The newly approved programs are:
Fire Technology - Associate Science Degree and Certificate of Achievement
Group Fitness Instructor - Certificate of Achievement
Non-Profit Organization Management - Certificate of Achievement
Personal Trainer - Certificate of Achievement
Project Management - Certificate of Achievement
Public Management – Certificate of Achievement
Water Management – Certificate of Achievement
Waste Water Management – Certificate of Achievement

And the community is responding positively to these new programs. Students are already taking classes that will count toward the degrees and certificates, with strong enrollments in several disciplines.

This is only the beginning for Folsom Lake College’s career programs. Other programs are also in progress.
