Alice Textor
Professor / Student Life and Physical Education
"Join in... step out of your comfort zone and try something new... participate in as many activities at the college as you can."

Why should students join Student Government, a student club, or Phi Theta Kappa?
Extra-curricular activities give students an opportunity to meet students with similar interests and participate in activities together. They develop their leadership, communication and interpersonal skills through the activities which are held both on campus and in the community. They become a “mover and shaker” on campus, and have the opportunity to make a difference at Folsom Lake College …besides, it’s FUN.
What advice would you give to a new college student?
Join in; step out of your comfort zone and try something new; participate in as many activities at the college as you can, including workshops, guest lectures and events---these will all cost you to participate once you leave the friendly confines of college.
What’s the favorite part of your job?
I love watching the students develop into caring and committed citizens. My best day is when I hear from a student who has left Folsom Lake College and shares a good story with me about their success. It makes me smile all day.
What was your proudest moment working with students?
Wow, only one—that’s tough. I guess I would say Commencement; when the door closes on this stage of their life and they are ready to take their dreams and skills to the next level.
