** Other Term classes are those that are not held during a regular term session (i.e., Full Semester, 1st 5-week term, 2nd 8-week term, etc.). They are typically short term classes that may meet only one day or a few weeks. Deadline dates are calculated based on mandated formulas directed by the State of California and the Education Code (Title 5). For example, the refund deadline is at the 10% mark of the class; the drop for W deadline is the 75% mark of the class. Please call the Admissions & Records office at 916-608-6500 if you have questions about Other Term classes. Please be aware that the deadline to add an Other Term class via eServices is the day BEFORE the class starts.
REGISTRATION PERIODS
Registration for a particular semester or term is broken up into five priority periods, which are mandated by Los Rios board regulations:
Priority 0:
Students participating in the EOP&S and DSPS programs - as well as honorably discharged veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States (including California National Guard and Naval Militia).
Priority 0.50:
Continuing Los Rios students who will be transferring to a university and/or will be completing their associate degree requirements at the end of the upcoming term. Students must meet with a counselor to verify eligibility prior to the start of this priority registration period.
Priority 1:
Continuing Los Rios students and New, first-time college students who have completed the matriculation process (orientation, assessment and counseling).
Priority 2:
New (non-matriculated) students, transfer students, high school students and Los Rios students returning after an absence.
Open:
All students.
Within Priority Registration periods, students are randomly assigned (by our computer system) a day and time that is your Priority Registration Appointment. This is not an in-person appointment; it is your first opportunity to register for classes - either online via eServices or in the A&R Office. Students eligible for Priority 0.50 will have their day and time manually updated by staff after submission of the appropriate paperwork through a counselor. Once a Priority Registration date has passed, a students may register anytime after that date.
