Library Card
The Student Access Card is a Los Rios Library Card. Pick up a Student Access Card at the Computer Lab located in Building C. The Access Card has a barcode which must be activated at the LIBRARY CIRCULATION DESK. Once activated as a Library Card, the Student Access Card must be used to check out books. The card will need to be updated at the circulation desk each enrolled semester. The activated Access Card is valid at any of the Los Rios Community College District Libraries: American River College, Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College and Sacramento City College. Registered Los Rios students can borrow books from any one of these libraries. For lost cards, students will need to pay a replacement charge at Student Services before a new card can be issued. For more information click on the following link: http://www.losrios.edu/lrc/lrc_sacard.htm

Book Returns
Return all books and materials to the proper Book Return. The inside Book Return is located at the left end of the Circulation Desk. An outside Book Return is available near the library entrance. Use this return only when the Library is closed.

Borrow Books from other LRCCD Libraries (ARC, CRC, FLC, SCC)

Students may request books to be sent to the EDC campus library, free of charge, from any of the Los Rios Community College Libraries. There is approximately a four-day waiting period for books to arrive. You may request up to 7 circulating books at one time.

Borrow Books from Regional Libraries
Students may request books to be sent to the EDC campus library, free of charge, from the Sacramento State University Library and the California State Library. There is approximately a two-week waiting period for books to arrive. Request forms are available at the Circulation Desk.

Computer Access
Wireless Internet connection is available in the Library for personal laptop usage. Library computers are available for research only.

Friends of the Library Card
Residents of the community that are not currently enrolled in a Los Rios District course may purchase a "Friends of the Library Card". This card allows anyone in the community to use the library for borrowing books, and to have on-campus access to the online periodical databases. The cost of this card is $15.00 per six month period or $30.00 per year.

Internet Subject Directories (http://www.flc.losrios.edu/~jimener/)
The EDC Librarian has developed an Internet guide which contains carefully selected scholarly links to various Internet sites by subject. Most of the sites contain full-text documents and site-specific search engines, making it worthwhile for students to successfully retrieve scholarly resources useful for their research papers.

Item Holds

You can request library materials online.  You may ask at the Circulation Desk for help to place a "Hold" on any Los Rios District library book. There are NO "Hold" privileges for Reserve materials.

Loan Periods
Circulating books may be checked out for 3 weeks. Circulating videos are checked out for one week. All materials must be returned by the end of each semester. The number of items you are limited to checkout are: 7 circulating books/items, 2 reserve books/items and 1 video.

Students have thirty (30) days to return the book for a refund minus the non-refundable processing fee.
