Library Instruction Sessions

If you are an instructor at Folsom Lake College, you may request library instruction for your class. These 50-minute sessions demonstrate how to use the library, its services and available resources. Basic searching strategies, techniques and tips are also covered. Instructor's presence during each library instruction session is required.

At least a one-week notice is required to schedule an instruction for your class. If you have any questions please contact James Telles at 916-608-6528 or tellesj@flc.losrios.edu. Fill out the web form linked below to begin the process. The librarian will confirm your instruction date and time.

Placing Materials on Course Reserve

Reserve materials are supplementary resources instructors can make available to their students. These materials circulate for short loan periods: 2-hr, 1-day, 3-day or 1 week. Reserve materials are kept behind the circulation counter and students need to request them by their library call number. The library also provides electronic course reserves. Students can directly access full-text articles and other documents faculty place on reserve via the library catalog.

If you would like to place material on reserve for your class, please click on the form below, fill out the online form and print it out. Bring the completed form, along with your reserve item (or citation if it is from one of our library databases) to the FLC Library Circulation Counter. Please allow 3 business days for the processing to be completed.

Librarian Contacts for Collection Development

FLC Librarians are assigned faculty subject liaison and collection development responsibilities by discipline area. If you know of materials that should be added to the collection in support of your subject field, please bring these to the attention of any FLC librarian.
