FLC Library Policies
Los Rios students, faculty, and staff must abide by the Library Circulation Policy and to be responsible for any materials borrowed. Violation of library policies may result in the loss of library privileges.
Library Use Guidelines
A set of guidelines has been established to promote an academic environment. The library asks that these guidelines be adhered to out of respect for your fellow students, the library and its staff. Violation of library policies may result in a loss of library privileges.
-- All food and drink are prohibited in the library. Students with opened containers of food or drink will be asked to take them outside of the library.
-- Cell phones & beepers should be set to vibrate or turned off. Students using cell phones will be asked to leave the library.
-- Headphones are acceptable, as long as their volume does not disturb other students or staff.
-- Unreasonable or abusive behaviors will not be tolerated.
Loan Periods
General circulating books check out for 21 days and may be renewed once unless there is a hold on the item(s). You may check out up to 7 general circulating books at a time. General circulating media check out for 7 days, with no renewals. You may check out 2 general media at a time. Reserve materials check out for 2 hours, 1 day, 3 days, or 7 days. You may check out 2 reserve items at a time.

Renewals/Patron Record
Students can view which items they have checked out and renew regular circulating books. Go to Library Catalog, then select My Record and enter your barcode and PIN. In some cases, such as having overdue books, library fines or too many renewals, you may not be able to renew online. Videos, cassettes, CDs, and reserve materials are not renewable online.
Reserve Materials
These items are supplementary resources, including textbooks, made available by your instructors and circulate for short loan periods. Reserve materials can be found by searching the Reserves in the Library Catalog. Bring the call number of the reserve item you want to our staff at the Circulation Counter, and they will check it out to you.
Silent Study Lab
The Library Classroom (FL1-35) is available for use as a silent study lab. Computers are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. Group work, talking, or disruptive behavior is not allowed in the lab. The lab is unavailable from time to time due to scheduled instructions. Lab hours are posted weekly at the Silent Study Lab entrance.
Study Rooms
Study rooms can be checked out for a period of two hours. Patrons must have a current Access Card, or ID, to reserve and check out rooms. Rooms may be reserved up to one week in advance. Only one reservation per person/day. Study rooms may be renewed only once for another two (2) hour period. Renewals will not be granted if other students are waiting for a room. Patrons are responsible for the condition of the room. The library reserves the right to reassign or cancel reservations to assure the maximum and most appropriate use of its space. Fines
Fines also accrue during the hours and days the library is closed. Fines can be paid at the Circulation Counter.

Lost Materials
Library materials that are lost will have a current replacement cost, plus a $10.00 non-refundable processing fee. Out of print materials are $40.00, plus the $10.00 non-refundable processing fee.
