Folsom Lake College’s Nutrition Department prepares the student for further study in nutrition science and related fields or a program in clinical dietetics.

A nutrition degree can be the foundation for career opportunities in areas such as:

Food Biochemist
Food and Nutrition Management

Nutrition Educator
Health Educator

Some career options may require more than two years of college study. Classes beyond the associate degree may be required to fulfill some career options or for preparation for transfer to a university program. Students planning to continue for a four-year degree should consult the lower division requirements of the transfer program of the university to which they plan to attend.

Note to transfer students: If your goal is to transfer to a four-year institution to obtain a bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics, you must meet with a counselor and plan the courses for your major. Schools have different requirements for transfer and bachelor's degrees.
