Professor Deanne Repetto

Deanne“Democracy is not a spectator sport”

Deanne Repetto has been teaching in the Los Rios Community College District since Fall of 1994, and has taught Political Science at Folsom Lake College’s El Dorado Center since Fall 1996. Her focus remains teaching students about the structure, functions, and processes of government and the pathways of action available to them for becoming involved and making change. She received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at UC Davis, then attended CSU Fresno’s teaching credential program. After teaching at variety of elementary and secondary grade levels, she attended CSU Sacramento and received a Master’s degree in Government with special emphasis on California State and local government. She is an active member of the American Political Science Association and contributing author to the “Living Democracy” textbook and “Teaching Matters” guide for undergraduate political science instructors.

Repetto is a certified Phi Theta Kappa leadership instructor and is involved in campus student government and activities. She is currently serving as advisor for the El Dorado Center Student Activities Club. She also volunteers as a local 4-H Club Leader and PTA Parliamentarian. Deanne lives on ten acres outside of Placerville with her husband, a Captain with Sacramento Metro Fire Dept and their two children. She enjoys reading Robert Ludlum novels, horseback riding, and now skiing.
