Just Dance!

Just Dance!

The community is invited to attend a series of arts events this December at Folsom Lake College:

Folsom Lake College Youth Chamber Orchestra Debut Concert
Wednesday, Nov. 28, 7pm, Harris Center/Three Stages, Stage 1
Under the direction of Evgeniy Sporov, the orchestra is comprised of young local musicians who meet twice per week to rehearse and share their love of music. The Orchestra's debut concert will be the first of what is expected to become a longstanding Three Stages tradition. The Folsom Lake College Youth Chamber Orchestra is made possible by a generous donation from The Robert S. and Star Pepper Foundation. Tickets are $19. For tickets, go to: www.threestages.net

An Evening of Dance featuring MOSAIC Dance Company
Thursday, Dec. 6, 6pm, Harris Center/Three Stages, Stage 1
FLC's Dance program features a variety of dances for an evening length program including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, and ethnic forms such as Classical Indian Bharata Natyam and Kathak, West African, Brazilian Samba, Classical Chinese dance, and Folklorico. FLC Music Department presents Fall Showcase
Tuesday, Dec. 11, 8pm, Harris Center/Three Stages, Stage 1
The Folsom Lake College Music Department presents a showcase highlighting the wide range of musical talents on campus. Groove to the smooth tunes of the Jazz Choir and sit back and enjoy the classical and contemporary renderings by our Concert Choir, led by conductor and FLC Music Professor Larry Metcalf and accompanied by pianist Shelley Rink. FLC Music Professor Philip Angove brings the ever-popular Afro-Cuban Funk Band and jammin' Rochestra ("Rock Orchestra"). Additional performances by vocal, piano, and instrumental soloists fill out the musical potpourri that is sure to have something for any music lover. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 7pm, Harris Center/Three Stages, Stage 3/Scott-Skillman Recital Hall
Student soloists from the voice class will offer a recital. Admission is free.

A Tribute to JIMI
Friday, Dec. 14, 7:30pm, Large Lecture Hall (Buckeye Hall room FL3-173)
FLC's Rochestra will present their Tribute to JIMI, featuring the music of rock guitar legend Jimi Hendrix. Afro-Cuban Funk will open the performance before Rochestra takes the stage. Admission is $5.
