Performing Arts Events

FLC PISO
October 20, 2016

The community is invited to attend a series of visual and performing arts events at Folsom Lake College:

Falcon's Eye Theatre presents You Can't Take It With You
Nov. 4-20, Harris Center, City Studio Theater (Stage 2)
The Falcon's Eye opens its tenth season with Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's You Can't Take It With You. With its spirited defense of lives lived for sheer joy rather than for ambition, financial gain or rank, this 1936 Pulitzer Prize winning play proved an escapist tonic in the midst of the Great Depression. The prototype for countless comedies about wacky families blithely out of step with the world around them, this giddy romp is a perennial favorite.
Tickets are $12-18. For tickets, go to: www.harriscenter.net.

An Evening of Dance featuring MOSAIC Dance Company
Thursday, Dec. 1, 6pm, Harris Center, Stage 1
Showcasing an array of different dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, and ethnic forms, FLC's Evening of Dance is a MOSAIC of dances and an enjoyable evening out. Come support some of the region's most dynamic and skilled college dancers! Featuring students enrolled in Folsom Lake College's Dance Program, the MOSAIC Dance Company will delight the senses with compelling and visceral dances. For tickets, go to: www.harriscenter.net.

Folsom Lake College Music Department presents Combined Choral Ensemble and Guests
Tues., Dec. 6, 7:30pm, Harris Center, Stage 1
Join the concert choir and college chorus for the secular, sacred..... and the profane! Tickets are $10-13. For tickets, go to: www.harriscenter.net.

Folsom Lake College Youth Chamber Orchestra Fall Concert
Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7pm, and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 3pm, Harris Center, Stage 3/Scott-Skillman Recital Hall
The Folsom Lake College Youth Chamber Orchestra has been created to inspire music appreciation and excellence among children ages 12-18, and to increase community awareness of and participation in the musical experiences of the area youth. Under the direction of Dr. Evgeniy Sporov, the orchestra is comprised of young local musicians who meet twice per week to rehearse and share their love of music. The orchestra debuted in 2012 in what will be a long standing tradition at the Harris Center. The Folsom Lake College Youth Chamber Orchestra is made possible by a generous donation from the Robert S. and Star Pepper. For tickets, go to: www.harriscenter.net.

A map to the Harris Center and the Folsom campus (10 College Parkway, off E. Bidwell) can be found here. A daily parking pass can be purchased for $2.
