Get ready for Spring!

Get ready for Spring!

The Spring 2019 semester officially begins on Saturday, January 19 (online and Saturday classes). Most Spring classes (full term and 1st 8-week term) have their first session Tuesday, January 22 - Monday, January 28. Please Note: The college is closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 21. View Academic Calendar

Make sure you are ready!

- Bring a copy of your most current schedule with you on the first day of class. Verify that all of your course information is correct. You can print this off at eServices.

- Do you want to add a class? Instructions on how to search for open classes Fees are due at time of enrollment. Fee payment policies

- Get your Student Access Card (which is your official college ID) at the Welcome & Student Success Center in Aspen Hall/FL1 at the Folsom campus, in the Computer Lab at the El Dorado Center, and in the Learning Resource Center at the Rancho Cordova Center. Make sure you bring a photo ID and proof of payment for the semester (this can be printed from eServices) or a copy of your California College Promise Grant (formerly BOG fee waiver) and proof of enrollment. There is no charge for the card. For your card to be valid as a regional transit pass, it must have the current semester sticker attached (pick up at the same location).

- Get your textbooks at the FLC College Store. You can check online to determine what materials you will need for each class.

- Get your Spring 2019 parking permit online now at eServices or in-person at Admissions & Records. If you order online, your parking decal will be mailed to your current mailing address within the next couple days. And, please make sure to arrive early the first week of school - the parking lots do fill up!

- Check out your classroom locations. Come to campus before the semester begins to locate your classrooms. Maps of the Main Folsom campus, El Dorado Center, and Rancho Cordova Center Also, double-check your schedule to make sure where your class meets. For example, "FLC MAIN" classes meet at the Folsom campus, "EDC" classes meet at the El Dorado Center in Placerville, and "RCC" classes meet at the Rancho Cordova Center. Don't assume that all classes meet at the Main Folsom campus.

- Make sure you've met the prerequisites for your classes and/or bring prerequisite verification to the first class meeting (test score or unofficial transcript).

- Are you on a Wait List? Here are some tips:

  • Prior to the start of the session, check your Los Rios Gmail and eServices regularly to see if you have been auto-added into the class. If so, make sure you pay your enrollment fees IMMEDIATELY to avoid being auto-dropped due to non-payment.
  •  SHOW UP TO THE FIRST CLASS SESSION! Instructors will fill open spaces on their rosters first from the wait list.
  • If the instructor adds you, they will give you a permission number. Make sure to register for that class using that permission number and pay the enrollment fees immediately.
