The Falcon’s Eye Theatre at Folsom Lake College calls for actors from the community to audition for its fall production of William Shakespeare’s thrilling war drama, The Life of King Henry the Fifth.
About the play
When King Henry the Fifth of England is insulted by the King of France, he leads his army into a battle of vengeance and bravado against the proud French elite. Along the way, the young king must struggle with the sinking morale of his troops and his own inner doubts. The war culminates at the bloody Battle of Agincourt.

About the auditions
Auditions for The Life of King Henry the Fifth will be held September 14, 2009, 7:00 pm on a first-come, first-served basis. Callbacks will be held September 15 and 16, 2009, 7:00 pm by invitation only following the September 14 auditions. Auditions will take place on the campus of Folsom Lake College, 10 College Parkway, Folsom, 95630. One dollar parking permits are available at kiosks located throughout the parking lots. To sign in for auditions, come to the Community Room, Aspen Hall room FL1-20. The Community Room is located near the south entrance of campus, on the southwest corner of Aspen Hall/FL1. Auditioners are asked to prepare a monologue that is no longer than 90-seconds-long from any play written by Shakespeare. Please memorize this monologue if possible, although memorization is not required. Auditioners will also be asked to audition by way of cold readings from the text. Auditions are expected to run until approximately 10:00 p.m. It is requested that you bring a photo and resume, if available. These items are not required.
Henry the Fifth contains a large and diverse cast. All actors will be cast in multiple roles, so versatile character actors are requested, although experience is not required. Actors of any race, disability, or age over 18 are needed. Experience with Shakespeare and with stage combat are plusses, but not required. High school students must have approval from their counselor to participate.
Henry V rehearses September 24 through November 5, evenings and Saturday afternoons and opens on November 6. Performances continue from November 6 through November 22, Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 pm. There is one Thursday evening performance November 19 at 8:00 pm.
