Falcon's Eye Theatre
July 23, 2018

"Macbeth" premieres this Fall

"Macbeth" premieres this Fall

The Falcon's Eye Theatre at Folsom Lake College calls for FLC students and actors from the community to audition for its fall production of Macbeth. All skill levels encouraged to audition.

The Falcon's Eye opens its twelfth season with William Shakespeare's Macbeth. Driven to bloody deeds by their lust for power, Macbeth and his Lady fight to hold on to their sanity and to each other by any means necessary. Shakespeare's tragedy is an unrelenting examination of the dark side of humanity.

When: Open monologue auditions are Monday, September 10, 6:30-9:30pm, by appointment only. Sign up for an audition time slot. We will be contacting you to confirm your audition appointment in the days leading up to auditions. Please Note: You must MAKE AN APPOINTMENT by visiting our website and requesting a reservation to audition. If you have performed in a Falcon's Eye Theatre production in the past, you may skip the required open monologue audition by invitation only. Please use the same link to make an appointment for callbacks on Tuesday, September 11 at 6:30pm.

Where: Audition check-in will take place in the Drama Lab (PAC-1170) at the Harris Center for the Arts on the Main Folsom campus of Folsom Lake College, 10 College Parkway (off E. Bidwell St.), Folsom, 95630. For a map, click here. On College Parkway, turn left at the stop sign. $2 parking permits are available at kiosks located throughout the parking lots.

What to Prepare:

Auditioners MUST prepare a monologue that is no more than 60 seconds long from a play by William Shakespeare. This monologue should best portray the actor's strengths and can be of any genre. The monologue must be memorized.

It is requested that auditioners bring a full-sized photo-headshot and resume of acting experience if available, but this is not required.

Callbacks: By invitation only - Tuesday, September 11, 6:30-9:30pm. Additional invited callbacks (as needed) - Wednesday, September 12, 6:30-9:30pm. Those who are called back will be given readings from the text. Therefore, it is advised to be familiar with the story of Macbeth before auditioning. Callbacks are expected to run approximately three hours.

Rehearsal Dates: September 17 through October 25, 2018. Rehearsal times might include weeknights and weekends. Minor conflicts with these dates are permissible.
