Sex Trafficking Awareness

FLC PISO
March 29, 2012

The Folsom Lake College Rotaract Club will be hosting a three day Sex Trafficking Awareness Event on the Folsom campus April 9th-11th. Sex Trafficking is one of the largest growing criminal industries in the world, and it is time that students at Folsom Lake College became aware of this issue and learned how to get involved in the fight against sex trafficking.

Various organizations, including WEAVE, Run for Courage, AIM, Hagar International, Chab Dai, Glass Slipper, Comassion International, C2BU, and Wind Youth Services will be present at this event and will man booths set up outside the Falcon's Roost Cafeteria from 10am-2pm each day.

For each of the three days, a main event will take place in the Large Lecture Hall (Buckeye Hall room FL3-173):
• April 9th from 11:30am-12:55pm - Documentary screening, Sex + Money
• April 10th from 12-1pm - Local musician, Melissa Lingo, will share her experiences from her mission trip to Brazil and perform a song she wrote for one of the girls she worked with.
• April 11th from 12-12:30pm - Local detective will give presentation

The FLC Rotaract Club is looking forward to hosting this awareness event and believes that it will ignite a passion in fellow students to take a stand against this injustice. For more information, contact the FLC Rotaract Club's Project Manager, Marissa Jestice, at: marissajestice@gmail.com
