The Falcon's Eye announces a call to students and community members to audition for its latest production, Spring Awakening.

Audition Date: Monday, January 27, 2014
How to Audition: Auditions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Go to the Falcon's Eye website www.falconseyetheatre.com, and click AUDITIONS. Follow prompts to make appointment.
Time: 6:30 - 10:30pm
Callback Auditions: January 28 and 29 by invitation only.

Audition Location: Auditions will take place in The Dance Studio, PE building room 203, on the Folsom Main Campus of Folsom Lake College, 10 College Parkway (off E. Bidwell St.), Folsom, CA 95630. For a map, click here. (Heading north from Hwy 50 on East Bidwell Street, turn right on Scholar Road. Turn left entering campus at the first stop sign. The PE building will be directly on your right. One dollar parking permits available at kiosks in parking lots entry.)

Vocal Audition: Prepare a short song (approximately 16 bars) of your choice that highlights your vocal range. Please select a song in the rock-and-roll/Broadway style of Spring Awakening. You are welcome to sing a selection from the show if you'd like. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.

Dance Audition: You will be asked to participate in a dance audition. No preparation is necessary. However, auditioners MUST wear loose fitting attire and either ballet or jazz dance shoes. Be warmed up and stretched out, ready to move at the time of the appointment. No bare feet or socks will be permitted.

Monologue Audition: Auditioners MUST prepare a monologue that is no more than 60-seconds-long from any play. Please no teleplays, screenplays or passages from novels or song lyrics. Also, please no original writing. This monologue should best portray the actor's strengths and can be of any genre. This monologue must be memorized.

Headshot and Resume: It is requested, but not required, that Auditioners bring a full-sized 8X10 photo-headshot and resume outlining training and performing experience for acting, dancing and singing.

Callbacks: Auditioners who are called back will also be asked to audition by way of cold readings from the text. Therefore, it is recommended that Auditioners be familiar with the story of Spring Awakening before auditioning. Call-backs are expected to run until approximately 10pm.

Rehearsal Dates: Approximate dates and times are February 3 through April 9, 2014, evenings and some weekend afternoons. Minor conflicts with these dates will be considered permissible. Those with significant conflicts with these dates should not audition.

Performance Dates: April 10 through April 14, 2014, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Performances will be held on Stage One at the Harris Center at Folsom Lake College.
