Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day, Folsom Lake College will commemorate the national holiday with several events and activities. Two days early (Please Note: the college will be closed Friday, November 10 in observance) with activities at the Main Folsom campus on Thursday, November 9. At 8:15am, a flag raising ceremony will be performed at the flagpoles outside of Aspen Hall/FL1. From 9:30am-1:30pm, connect with FLC's Veterans Success Center staff at an information table on the Quad where you can learn more about Veterans Day, FLC's veterans services, and get a U.S. flag pin, yellow ribbon, or "22 Everyday" bracelet (while supplies last). Show your support that day by wearing patriotic clothing or pins.

On Saturday, November 11 starting at 9:00am, FLC will participate in the 17th Annual Wayne Spence Folsom Veterans Day Parade. Thanks to a Mini-Grant from the FLC Foundation, members of the college community, including representatives from the Veterans Success Center, MOSAIC Dance Company, Athletics, and more, will proudly march in front of a specially designed float made by Professor Ian Wallace and Technical Theatre students on a flatbed trailer owned and operated by Laura Kelly from Printing. The parade route will start on East Bidwell St. in front of HomeGoods/Target parking lot and end at the Folsom Community Center (52 Natoma St.).
