Wells Fargo & Company has presented the Folsom Lake College Foundation with $100,000 in support of the new Folsom Lake College Regional Visual and Performing Arts Center.

The Folsom Lake College Regional Visual and Performing Arts Center is an 80,000 square foot, $50 million facility which will house an 800-seat main theatre, 200-seat director’s studio, 100-seat recital hall, an art gallery and a wide variety of instructional spaces. Construction began on the project in Fall 2008 and is expected to be completed in late Fall 2010. Wells Fargo’s donation will support the capital and endowment campaign currently in progress.

“Arts education is an extremely important part of an academic program,” said John Crenshaw, Market President for Wells Fargo’s Town and County Market. “Our newly formed partnership with Folsom Lake College's Performing Arts Center has the potential to change the lives of our local students and the community we live in. We hope with this grant we help bring students to the arts and the arts to our classrooms. Supporting the development of education and the arts in our community is core to our vision and values and it's a privilege for us to partner with Folsom Lake College in pursuit of this endeavor."

“The Folsom Lake College Foundation is honored to be the recipient of funds from Wells Fargo,” said Folsom Lake College Foundation Chair of the Board, Martha Lofgren. “We appreciate Wells Fargo’s commitment to help us in delivering the best of live performances to the students of Folsom Lake College and to the residents in the communities along the Highway 50 Corridor.”
