Youth Concert

FLC PISO
May 02, 2013

FLC Youth Chamber Orchestra concert is May 13

FLC Youth Chamber Orchestra concert is May 13

The Folsom Lake College Youth Chamber Orchestra will present a concert on Monday, May 13 at 7pm at Harris Center for the Arts/Three Stages on Folsom Lake College's main campus (10 College Parkway in Folsom).

The 16-member youth string orchestra was formed to inspire music appreciation and excellence among children ages 12 to 18, and to increase community awareness of the musical experiences of area youth. Comprised of some of the best musicians from the area, this elite performance ensemble promises to deliver an outstanding evening of music. The Folsom Lake College Youth Chamber Orchestra is made possible by a generous donation from The Robert S. and Star Pepper Foundation.

Under the direction of Dr. Evgeniy Sporov, a master teacher for the ensemble class at Folsom Lake College's Classical Masters Music Festival and a faculty member at the Pacific Institute of Music, the orchestra's mix of 7th through 12th-graders meets twice per week to rehearse and share their love of music.

A diverse group, the students hail from several Sacramento County schools, including: Vista del Lago; Folsom High; Jesuit High; Granite Bay High; Mira Loma High; Sacramento Waldorf School; Folsom Middle School; Churchill Middle School; and California Virtual Academy.

Tickets for the concert are $15 general admission and $5 for students and seniors. For more information and to purchases tickets, please go to www.threestages.net or call (916) 608-6888. A map to the campus can be found here.
