Click here to view additional scholarship resources. Two great resources for local scholarships are:

El Dorado County Scholarships
http://www.edc-scholarships.org

Sacramento Region Community Foundation
http://www.sacregcf.org

Both offer many scholarship opportunites in El Dorado, Sacramento, and Amador counties. Local organizations are a great place to start when beginning your scholarship search as they are less competitive than many of the big national websites.

There are additional scholarships available through national organizations. Though more competitive than local scholarships, you can search for scholarships through the following scholarship search engines:
students.gov
FastWeb.com
ScholarshipExperts.com
Scholarship.com
SchoolSoup.com

Book Scholarships

In addition to the scholarships listed on the Los Rios website, the Foundation offers 12 book scholarships in the amount of $250 each year. The awards are made in the form of a voucher valid only at the Folsom Lake College bookstore.  All students of Folsom Lake College are eligible to enter by simply filling out an entry form. Last year, twelve scholarships were awarded.

WARNING: when you are searching the Internet for scholarships, if it seems to good to be true -- it probably is. You should never have to pay for a scholarship. The following websites are good resources on how to avoid being scammed.
FinAid.org
Federal Trade Commission
