Library Card

Your free Student Access Card is an all-in-one card: your District library card, official college Photo ID, Regional Transit pass (with current RT sticker), and GoPrint card. Access Cards can be obtained in the Computer Lab.

Access cards can be obtained at:
Main Campus: Computer Lab-Library in FL 1
El Dorado Center: Computer Lab (C-204) in Building C
Rancho Cordova Center: Main Counter

Your access card includes your library barcode, which must be activated at the library circulation counter each semester you are enrolled. Once your barcode is activated, it allows you to check out library materials and gives you access to valuable online services and resources from off campus, including the library research databases during the semester you are registered. A lost or stolen Access Card should be reported immediately. You are responsible for any material checked out on your card.

Your Library Card is valid at any of the Los Rios Community College Libraries: Folsom Lake College (FLC) & El Dorado Center (EDC), American River College (ARC), Cosumnes River College (CRC), or Sacramento City College (SCC).

Note: Students and Faculty can gain access to online services and resources from off campus with their Los Rios Unified Log-in and Password. Students and Faculty who wish to set up, have forgotten or wish to change their password can do so using the Password Management System.

You can use your card to make photocopies or prints at any GoPrint station at any Los Rios college. You can deposit funds (cash or coins only) on your card using any GoPrint vending station located in the Library or Computer Lab.

Friends of the Library Borrowing Card

Residents of the community that are not currently enrolled in a Los Rios District course may purchase a Friends of the Library Member Card. This card allows anyone in the community to use the library for borrowing books and allows on-campus access to the online research databases. The cost of this card is $30.00 per year. Cards are available for FLC Alumni and children under 18 for $15.00 per year. FLC Emeriti Association Members may also join as Friends of the Library; the fee is included in the Emeriti Association member dues.

To receive your Friends of the Library Member Card, please bring your California Driver's License or other official photo identification to the Circulation Desk and fill out an application. A parent or guardian must show their California Driver's License or other official photo identification before a Friends of the Library borrowing card will be issued to their child or ward.

Privilege restrictions for the Friends of the Library Cards
Due to the library's primary mission of providing ready sources for current students, faculty and staff, certain limits apply to all Friends of the Library Borrowers:

Three books may be borrowed at a time. Books may be checked out from the FLC Main Campus or the El Dorado Center Library, but excludes items from other Los Rios Libraries.

Books are loaned for 21 days only. No media items may be checked out.

Friends of the Library membership excludes interlibrary loan, hold, and request services.

Friends of the Library members can only access online databases from on-campus computers.

Computer Lab staff will gladly log any Friends of the Library members onto computers as the library does not issue computer accounts.
