Research Assistance

Your Folsom Lake College librarians are here to help you with your research needs!

In Person
Librarians are available for research assistance at the Library Reference Desk. Reference Desk hours are posted on the Library homepage.

Email
If you have a research question, fill out the Ask a Librarian form online or email us at FLC-Librarian@flc.losrios.edu. Reference librarians will respond to your email as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours.

Phone
You can also speak to a reference librarian by calling the Reference Desk at (916) 608-6612.

Research Guides
Use the Research Guides as a tool to help you get started on your research. Guides cover a range of subject areas as well as individual courses.

OneSearch
Use OneSearch to locate and access library materials such as print books, eBooks, periodicals, media and reserve items. Search by keyword, author, title, subject, or by course name and instructor for reserve items. You can renew books online and view your library account by visiting My Library Record. Ask a librarian if you need assistance with your research.
For more information on how to locate books on the shelf and the Library of Congress Classification System, click here.

Research Databases
Library Research Databases are available only to Los Rios Community College students, faculty, and staff. These databases can be accessed from off campus by using your Los Rios Unified Log-in and Password. Ask a librarian if you need assistance accessing or navigating the databases.
