Guest Information
The Folsom Lake College Commencement Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony may last up to two hours. Members of the FLC graduating class, their families and friends are invited to attend.
LOCATION
The ceremony will take place outdoors at Folsom Lake College – on the Athletic Field near the tennis courts. Click here for a map.
PARKING
You may park in any of the parking spaces on the Folsom campus (other than red, green and blue zones). Parking is free; however, spaces are at a premium, so guests should arrive early.
PARKING ENFORCEMENT
Permit and/or Daily Pass Parking will NOT be enforced on the day of the ceremony. However, all red zones (no parking), green zones (limited time parking), and blue zones (handicapped) will be enforced.
CEREMONY
Guests are to remain seated throughout the ceremony. Guests are not permitted to block entrances/exits. Please be respectful of your fellow spectator. Do not stand in front of others and block their view of the ceremony.
TICKETS
You do not need admission tickets for the ceremony. (Admission tickets will be required in the event of rain and the ceremony is moved indoors.)
ELECTRONIC COURTESY
Turn off all pagers, electronic watch alarms, and cellular phones before the ceremony begins.

ACCOMMODATIONS FOR GUESTS WITH DISABILITIES
There is designated handicapped parking located in all parking lots on campus. There are also handicapped parking available surrounding the Child Development Center (near the Athletic Field). In addition, there will be a drop-off area across from the Athletic Field.
There will be an American Sign Language interpreter on stage during the ceremony. The college does not have wheelchairs for guest use; you must provide your own, if needed.
HEAT SAFETY
The ceremony is held outdoors and temperatures are typically in the high 90s. Please take the proper precautions for the warm conditions.
CHILD SEATING
Use discretion in bringing a young child to the ceremony. A responsible adult should accompany all children, regardless of age, throughout the ceremony.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE CAMPUS
The Los Rios Community College District supports the U.S. Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988, and a drug and alcohol free environment for the campus community in accordance with the Drug Free Schools and Community Act Amendment of 1989 (district policy 2443). The Los Rios Community College District prohibits the use, sale or possession on campus of, or presence on campus under the influence of, any controlled substance. Consumption of, or being under the influence of, alcohol, while on campus is strictly prohibited.
RECEPTION
The college welcomes all graduates and their guests for the reception following the ceremony.
YOU AND YOUR GRADUATE
It is recommended that a pre-determined meeting place be selected for family and friends to congregate after the ceremony. This will enable the graduates to more easily find their guests.
