Elise Ostermann
2008 Graduate; Degree in General Education Transfer

"Everything I learned at FLC - from communication, to math, to creative writing, prepared me for a successful career at the young age of twenty."

Elise Ostermann

When did you start taking classes with Folsom Lake College (FLC)?

I started taking classes when I was seventeen years old - Fall semester 2005.

What was your major?

General Education.

Why did you choose FLC?

It was close to my home in Cameron Park, had a beautiful campus, amazing professors, and tuition I could afford.

What was the best part of your experience with FLC?

Most definitely the professors. They inspired me to not only achieve short term goals, but long term goals as well. Without them, I know I wouldn't be where I am today.

What are you particularly proud of that you accomplished with FLC?

Graduating with a 3.94 - only one B in all my time there.

How do you feel Folsom Lake College helped prepare you for the future?

It helped by giving me a solid education and an amazing college experience. Because of those two things, I believe I am not only a well rounded employee, but a well rounded individual. Everything I learned at FLC - from communication, to math, to creative writing, prepared me for a successful career at the young age of twenty.

What are you doing now?

I graduated from FLC last year, took on 4 internships, and then headed down to LA to work in the movie industry. I landed a job at SONY as a graphic designer, working on their digital media marketing.
