Current FLC Student planning to transfer
"My favorite experience here was being cast in the production of 'The Skin of Our Teeth'- the first FLC production to be performed in the new theatre."
When did you start taking classes with Folsom Lake College (FLC)? What is your major?
I began taking classes at the college last fall (2010) after graduating from Folsom High School with the intent of just taking classes until I discovered what I wanted to pursue career-wise. So I didn't have a major- and I still don't... yet.
Why did you choose FLC?
I chose FLC because it is very close to home and my work so I can easily commute. I also was excited for Three Stages to be built because I am a huge theatre person and I was actually able to perform in Stage One in the grand opening in February.
What was the best part of your experience with FLC?
My favorite experience here was being cast in the production of The Skin of Our Teeth- the first FLC production to be performed in the new theatre.
What are you particularly proud of that you accomplished with FLC?
Performing in The Skin of Our Teeth and the chance to become involved with the dance program here are definitely things I am proud of doing.
How do you feel Folsom Lake College helped prepare you for the future?
Folsom Lake College is giving me the experience to decide if this is a path that I would like to follow.
What are you doing now?
Right now I am very excited to be involved in choreographing for a class of mine and hopefully my dance will be selected to be performed at Three Stages in Stage One in this year's Evening of Dance program! This semester is all about pushing myself to see what I can do and gain confidence in that aspect and maybe it will inspire me to pursue things I never thought I could do.
What are your plans for the future?
At the end of this semester, I will determine if I could handle all of the dance that I am doing this semester (6 hours every Monday and Wednesday). And if I can, I intend on taking a few business classes and may possibly start a dance studio of my own where I could teach Musical Theatre and things that I love. Who knows?
