Current FLC Student majoring in Biology: Pre-Nursing

"[I] never knew what I wanted to do 'when I grew up'."

Lindsay Baker

I started at Folsom Lake College in 2009, but I only took a couple classes to ease back into college life. I had taken classes at Sierra College in Grass Valley for a couple semesters in 2006 and 2007 but never knew what I wanted to do "when I grew up". So in 2008 I overcame drug and alcohol addiction and in June 2013 I'll be celebrating 5 years clean and sober! To backtrack a bit, after I started my classes at FLC I found out I was pregnant with my first child so I took a break when that semester was done. Brian and I welcomed Sophia into the world May 7th 2010. I started back at Folsom Lake College fall of 2011 and have been working towards my pre-nursing biology A.S. ever since. I am hoping to transfer to a nursing program after fall 2013, my final semester here. After getting my RN, my ultimate goal is to become a nurse midwife.
