"I am really proud of the year and a half I spent as a member of FLC's Phi Theta Kappa chapter."

Madhuri Nemali

When did you start taking classes with Folsom Lake College(FLC)?

I took one class during my senior year of high school in Spring '04, then I started full-time Fall '04.

What was your major?

I took classes at FLC with the intention of being a business major, but I graduated from UCD in Communication.

Why did you choose FLC?

I chose FLC because I wasn't ready to leave home after graduating high school, and here was this brand new, absolutely lovely little school two miles from my house.

What was the best part of your experience with FLC?

The best part of my experience with FLC was how easy it was to get to know the professors. I am proud that I can count one or two professors among my friends even today.

What are you particularly proud of that you accomplished with FLC?

I am really proud of the year and a half I spent as a member of FLC's Phi Theta Kappa chapter. I haven't had much work experience, so being able to say that I left FLC as an active member of the honor society really made me look good.

How do you feel Folsom Lake College helped prepare you for the future?

I feel FLC best helped me prepare me for the future by giving me the opportunity to interact with adults on an equal footing, both by meeting with professors outside of class and through my job in the student services office.

What are you doing now?
I graduated from UCD in June of this year and in August, I started at Santa Clara University's law program.
