Nick Beard
2006 Graduate; Degree in General Education Transfer

"I appreciate the fact that FLC saw my drive to finish school fast, and directed me in the appropriate path to success."

Nick Beard

When did you start taking classes with Folsom Lake College (FLC)?

Fall 2005

What was your major?

Administration of Justice, Correctional Science

Why did you choose FLC?

Convenience, Location, Scheduling

What was the best part of your experience with FLC?

I loved the atmosphere. I enjoyed going into well maintained, highly advanced classrooms. I work as an I.T. coordinator, so having the functionality to present my presentations without any trouble was great. The faculty worked together and was quick about helping students unlike the stories I’ve heard from other colleges.

What are you particularly proud of that you accomplished with FLC?

I received two A.A. degrees from FLC in a short amount of time. I appreciate the fact that FLC saw my drive to finish school fast, and directed me in the appropriate path to success.

How do you feel Folsom Lake College helped prepare you for the future?

I believe that FLC presented me multiple options for success, and when I chose what I wanted to do, FLC was there to back me in full force. The instructors presented new classes, new opportunities to grow. I always had an advocate supporting my dreams.

What are you doing now?

I am currently graduating in the Spring ’08 class from Sacramento State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and I am in the backgrounds process for multiple different local agencies. My goal is to obtain a position within the next 10 months after graduation.
