Current FLC student majoring in Biological Sciences

"[FLC] truly allowed me to see my true potential..."

Lamis Maadarani

I started taking courses at Folsom Lake college in Fall of 2012 and my major is Biology. I chose Folsom Lake College because I had heard from friends and classmates that FLC is a new campus with great professors and the environment is friendly and welcoming. The best part of my experience is when I was having a family crisis and I went and asked my Professor, Shawn Reese who is an amazing person, for help and he along with the counselors and the nurse provided me with emotional support and aided me in the right direction to get back on my feet. I am particularly proud that I was challenged to my best ability and that I was able to perform exceptionally well in my classes because I had the right mentors around me and great professors. I feel Folsom Lake College prepared me for the future because it truly allowed me to see my true potential and that I have a lot of talents and given the right opportunities and the great people I encountered at FLC including my Professor Shawn Reese along with the students I had in my class; I can stride to be the best and to further my ambitions in life. I am currently working at Micromidas which is a chemistry lab and planning to transfer to UC Davis in the fall of 2013. My plans for the future are to be accepted into medical school and to become a surgeon.
