Veteran Students and Dependents

Welcome to Folsom Lake College!  The FLC Veterans Success Center (VSC) provides assistance to Veterans and dependents who may be eligible for various VA educational benefits, as well as assisting with the onboarding process and transition to college.

The Veterans Success Center is staffed by veterans for veterans!  It provides a space for veterans to gather, socialize, do homework, and form relationships with other veterans.  Here are some of the services and free perks available in the VRC:

  • Assistance with the transition from active duty to student life and starting up your GI Bill ®
  • Priority registration
  • Study space
  • Computer and Printer use
  • Coffee and other food items
  • A place to relax between classes

Veterans Services also have staff available at our educational centers:

Effective Fall 2015, the state of California has made it easier to get an education at FLC by offering in-state tuition for active military members and their dependents, as well as veterans who have been honorably discharged.  Any veteran or dependent who meets the criteria as outlined by Assembly Bill 13 is eligible for a Non-Resident tuition exemption.  Please see Admissions & Records for details about this exemption.  Click HERE for the VACA Non-Resident Fee Exemption Form.
