Guest Information

You may park in any of the parking spaces on the Folsom campus other than red (no parking), green (limited time parking) and blue (handicapped) zones. Parking is free the night of the ceremony; however, spaces are at a premium, so guests should arrive early.

The Commencement Ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in the Harris Center at Folsom Lake College. Doors leading into the Harris Center main lobby will open at 5 p.m. and doors inside the venue (Theater entrance doors) will open at 5:30 p.m. Guests should not arrive prior to 5 p.m. as event staff will be setting up for the ceremony. Guests are asked to be on time as the ceremony will start promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Guests are to remain seated throughout the ceremony and should not block entrances, exits, or the view of other guests.  We also ask that guests refrain from saving seats.

Late seating - Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the ushers at a suitable break in the ceremony. If you arrive late, we appreicate that you will want to take your seat as soon as possible, and accommodations will be made as needed.

Admission tickets will be required for all guests to enter and re-enter the Harris Center.

Turn off all pagers, electronic watch alarms, and cellular phones before the ceremony begins. Please no noise makers, blow horns, and balloons or signs that obstruct view of others.

There is designated handicapped parking located in all parking lots on campus. In addition, there is a drop-off area in front of the Harris Center.

Accessible Seating
The Harris Center is accessible to guests with special needs. Accessible seating locations are available for guests in wheelchairs or with limited mobility in all theaters. Wireless Assisted Listening Devices (ALD) are available for check-out at the Kirklin Coat Check Room located in the first floor lobby. To assist our staff in serving you, please make arrangements with the Ticket Office prior to the ceremony - ideally, when placing your ticket order.

Use discretion in bringing a young child to the ceremony. A responsible adult should accompany all children, regardless of age, throughout the ceremony.

The Los Rios Community College District supports the U.S. Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988, and a drug and alcohol free environment for the campus community in accordance with the Drug Free Schools and Community Act Amendment of 1989 (district policy 2443). The Los Rios Community College District prohibits the use, sale or possession on campus of, or presence on campus under the influence of, any controlled substance. Consumption of, or being under the influence of, alcohol, while on campus is strictly prohibited.

The college welcomes all graduates and their guests for the reception following the ceremony.

It is recommended that a pre-determined meeting place be selected for family and friends to congregate after the ceremony. This will enable the graduates to more easily find their guests.
