MISSION STATEMENT Transfer Services are geared toward assisting students in exploring post-secondary educational options while providing support and guidance on the steps necessary to transfer to a four-year college or university. This is accomplished through a variety of services and activities that include:

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Working in collaboration with an FLC College Counselor, students will:
know the steps required to transfer to a four- year college or university.
be able to identify resources that assist with transfer preparation.
Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT's): SB 1440 establishes the Student Transfer Achievement Reform (STAR) Act. SB 1440 requires a community college district to grant an associate degree for transfer to a student in that student’s field of study once a student has met degree and transfer requirements for a particular major. Upon completion of the transfer associate degree, the student is eligible for transfer with junior standing into the California State University (CSU) system. Students will be given priority consideration when applying to a particular program that is similar to the student’s community college area of emphasis. The bill prohibits a community college district or campus from adding local course requirements in addition to requirements of the STAR Act, and prohibits the CSU from requiring a transferring student to repeat courses similar to those taken at the community college that counted toward their associate degree for transfer.
At this time, FLC offers 15 Associate for Transfer Degrees (ADT's): Administration of Justice, Art History, Art-Studio, Business, Communication Studies, Early Childhood Education, English, Geography, Geology, Kinesiology, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, and Theatre Arts. More are being developed! Please see a counselor for specific program requirements.
UPCOMING FALL 2015 TRANSFER EVENTS & ACTIVITIES Transfer Day: Wednesday, September 23rd, 10 AM to 1 PM, FLC Main campus -Join us as 30+ colleges and universities share admissions, programs of study, and financial aid with students. A variety of schools will participate including many UC's, CSU's, Private, and Out of State Institutions!
Drop-In Application Review: Need to have your college application or personal statement reviewed before submitting it? FLC/EDC/RCC will offer application review sessions on select dates in October and November. No appointment necessary. Click here for days and times.
