Extended Opportunities Programs & Services (EOPS)/CARE

What is EOPS/CARE?

EOPS/CARE at Folsom Lake College exists to extend the opportunity of attending higher education to those from educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.  We not only strive to increase access to college, but to commit resources to the retention of these underrepresented groups.  Our staff is here to assist in any way possible and we are committed to working with each student so that they can reach their educational, career and life goals.

EOPS provides support services to students meeting specific educational and economic criteria, as well as students from underrepresented groups.  Our services include counseling and advising, early registration, book vouchers, workshops, and transfer assistance.

CARE provides services in addition to those offered by EOPS to students who are single parents and receiving county aid from TANF.  These services include supply vouchers, monthly transportation assistance, and in-depth financial aid advising.

Department Mission Statement:

Our mission is to support students in their journey toward education, equity, and empowerment.

Department Student Learning Outcomes:

Students will know the courses required to complete their academic goals as outlined in their educational plan.

Students will know the responsibilities required of them in order to remain eligible for program services.
