Federal Work-Study

Federal Work-Study provides jobs to undergraduate students who are paid an hourly rate at minimum wage or above. Jobs are provided on and off campus, with hourly wages paid directly to the student to help with educational expenses.

The following Federal Work Study (FWS) positions are available at Folsom Lake College (FLC), including the El Dorado Center (EDC) and Rancho Cordova Center (RCC). Your financial aid file must be complete and you must have received an award notification prior to obtaining a FWS position.

Steps for Obtaining a FWS Position:

  1. Submit all required documents to the Financial Aid Office to complete your Financial Aid file.
  2. Review the FWS Job Announcements below.  If a position interests you, please contact the FWS Supervisor for the position and schedule an interview.
  3. Print your Shopping Sheet from eServices to submit to the FWS Supervisor during the interview.
  4. Print your Course Eligibility from eServices to submit to the FWS Supervisor during the interview.  (Please Note: You must be enrolled in SIX (6) Financial Aid Course Eligible units to be considered for FWS).
  5. If you are a potential match for the department, the supervisor will complete a FWS Request form and notify the financial aid office.
  6. Upon receipt of the FWS Request form, the Financial Aid Office will email your FWS Supervisor a FWS Award Notification via email.
  7. You will be notified by your supervisor regarding your starting date of employment as soon as an employment packet (for new FWS students) or renewal paperwork (for continuing FWS students) is completed in full with the assistance of your FWS Supervisor.

Reminder:  Your Financial Aid file must be complete in order to be awarded FWS.

2017-2018 FWS Job Announcements:
