Folsom Lake College Tours

Tour FAQ

Individual  Group Tours  Directions  

Q: Is a reservation required?
A: Yes. You will need to select the time and date you plan to visit.

Q: How early should I arrive?
A: We recommend getting to campus 15 minutes before your confirmed tour time to allow time for parking and bathroom breaks.

Q: Where should I park?
A: Folsom Campus: Parking Lot A is the most convenient (campus map). El Dorado Center: Lot A or Lot B (campus map). Please do not park in faculty/staff spots.

Q: Do I need to pay for parking?
A: Yes. Daily parking permits can be purchased for $2.00 at the parking permit machines (designated by Parking on the campus maps).

Q: Is a tour given if it is raining?
A: Yes. Rain gear can be purchased in our campus book store if needed.

Q: Who can I contact if I have questions?

Individual Tours

Q: Does my family get our own private tour guide?
A: That could happen! We allow up to 20 people on an individual tour, so you may be with other families.

Q: Where do we check in?
A: Folsom Campus: Your tour guide will meet you at the Welcome Center at the Personal Learning Environment (PLE) in Aspen Hall/FL1 (campus map). El Dorado Center: Campus drop-off circle (campus map).

Q: How long is the tour?
A: Tours typically take one hour.

Group Tours

Q: What is the minimum number of students required?
A: At least 20 students are required for a group tour at the Folsom campus and 10 students at the El Dorado Center.

Q: How many chaperones are required?
A: One chaperone per 10 students is required for a group tour.

Q: How long is the tour?
A: Tours take typically one hour. Large group tours may take one and a half hours to two hours depending on the number of attendees.

Q: Where do we check in?
A: Folsom Campus: Group tours will be notified of the meeting place via email (campus map). El Dorado Center: Campus drop-off circle (campus map).

Q: Should I bring anything?
A: If your tour is around lunchtime, we suggest bringing your lunch with you.

Directions

Q: How do I get to the Folsom campus (10 College Parkway in Folsom)?
A: From Sacramento: Take Highway 50 east toward Lake Tahoe. Take the East Bidwell Street/Scott Road exit and turn left at the end of the exit ramp. Proceed north on East Bidwell for 1.6 miles. Turn right at College Parkway at the signal.

From Lake Tahoe: Take Highway 50 west toward Sacramento. Take the East Bidwell Street/Scott Road exit and turn right at the end of the exit ramp. Proceed north on East Bidwell for 1.6 miles. Turn right at College Parkway at the signal.

From Roseville: Head east on Douglas Blvd. Turn right onto Folsom Auburn Rd. Continue south 4.4 miles and turn left on Greenback Lane. Follow Greenback Lane, which becomes Riley Street as you pass through Old Folsom. Just past Sutter Middle School, turn left on East Bidwell Street. Continue southeast for 3.5 miles, passing Oak Avenue Parkway. Turn left at College Parkway at the signal.

Q: How do I get to the El Dorado Center (6699 Campus Drive in Placerville)?
A: From Sacramento: Take Highway 50 east towards Placerville. Take the El Dorado Road exit and turn left at the first stop sign off the highway. Continue on this road for 1.3 miles. Turn left at the first traffic signal (this is Missouri Flat Road). Continue on Missouri Flat Road (which becomes Green Valley Road) for 1.5 miles. Turn right on Campus Drive, which is just past the El Dorado County Office of Education and Elementary School.

From Lake Tahoe: Take Highway 50 west towards Sacramento. Take the El Dorado Road exit and turn right at the first stop sign off the highway. Continue on this road for 1.3 miles.
