English/Reading Assessment

English/Reading Placement Sample Questions

Click here for additional resources recommended by the English Department.

Online tutoring through the Reading and Writing center is available to help you prepare for the English and Reading assessment tests. For login information, contact Tom Goff, Instructional Assistant, at gofft@flc.losrios.edu.

Math Assessment

We offer 4 levels of math assessment. Students should review the sample questions below to help them select a math test. Students should also review the Math History link for a recommendation regarding which math test to take based on the grade the student earned in their most recent high school math class. Please note that if you choose to take a math test that is too difficult for you, your placement will be "undetermined" and you will need to take a math test that is a level lower. The Math Testing Levels Information link explains which classes you will be eligible for based on the math assessment test that you choose and explains which skills are being assessed on each math test.
