Supplemental Learning

Inspiring excellence and empowering students

Folsom Lake College is offering a series of skill building workshops called Supplemental Learning Workshops to promote student success in courses throughout the college. There are three types of workshops: Learning Skills, English/Composition Skills, and Social Sciences.

  • Learning Skills Workshops are designed to improve the students' ability to gather, process, and retain information. As the students learn these concepts, their course content will become easier and more enjoyable.
  • English and Composition Skills workshops help students communicate their ideas by using proper sentence structure that is organized and clear. The students will learn skills needed to develop well articulated written work that impacts readers and audiences.
  • Social Sciences workshops are discipline specific. These workshops help students communicate their written work accurately and appropriately for the social sciences.
