First Year Experience Requirements

In order to participate in the FYE program, students must adhere to the following:

  • Attend a College Prep Meeting between May 1 and August 11, 2017.
  • Attend FYE Welcome Day in August 2017.
  • Sign the FYE Student Contract confirming the student's understanding and agreed compliance with all FYE requirements.
  • Register for FYE sections of English, Math, Freshman Seminar, and general education classes for both Fall and Spring semesters.  Information on how to enroll in the FYE classes will be provided to accepted students.
  • Students will not be permitted to enroll in only one FYE class.  The participation in the total learning community is required. Click here for a sample FYE schedule of classes
  • Maintain a full load of appropriate FYE classes in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Meet with Peer Mentor at designated times throughout the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Complete workshops as recommended by Peer Mentors and assigned in FYE classes for Fall and Spring (as needed).
