HOW TO APPLY AND REGISTER

NEW COLLEGE STUDENTS
New college students are students who have never before enrolled at any college. New students are encouraged to complete the matriculation process, which provides information and support toward fulfilling educational goals. In order to qualify for Priority 1 registration, the matriculation process must be completed prior to the priority registration period. If the Priority 1 period has passed, new students can register during Priority 2 or Open registration.

You will have a PRIORITY APPOINTMENT DATE for the first date and time that you are eligible to register (and then any time after that). The priority appointment date is a random assignment and can be found online at e-Services.

Steps to Success – First-Time Student Matriculation Process:
1. Complete an application for enrollment, using the online application. Your application will be uploaded into our computer system within 30-45 minutes. You can then search for your Student ID number online at e-Services.
2. Take the appropriate assessment test(s). Go to Assessment for further information.
The purpose of the assessment test is to determine your present skill level in reading, writing and math. Assessment results, along with other information, will be used by counselors to help you select the most appropriate courses.
3. Attend Orientation or complete Online Orientation. At Orientation, you receive vital information about FLC and tips for a successful first semester.
4. Counseling. Call the Counseling Center to make an appointment for counseling, at which time you must bring the following:
a. Your assessment test scores;
b. A copy of your high school transcript, including work in progress if you are still in high school.
5. After you have completed Steps 1-4 you can register for classes by going to e-Services or using TES.
