Application Procedures
As an international student at Folsom Lake College, you will need to follow two procedures:
1. International student application: to receive an I-20 that will allow you to apply for and receive an F-1 visa or continue your F-1 status in the U.S.
2. Academic admissions: to be able to register for classes.
Application Deadlines
REQUIREMENTS INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSIONS
Folsom Lake College is approved by the Department of Homeland Security to issue the I-20 document, which will allow you to apply for a U.S. F-1 visa and enter the U.S. in F-1 status. After receiving the I-20, please be sure to visit the website of the nearest U.S. consulate to follow visa application procedures. All U.S. consulate websites are posted on the U.S. State Department Website. Also, additional information is given at UnitedStatesVisas.gov. The following documents are required in order to issue the I-20 document:

1. Evidence of English Proficiency: |

a. Official TOEFL test result of 450 minimum (written) or 133 minimum (computer based) or 45 minimum (Internet based).

Along with TOEFL, Folsom Lake College also recognizes STEP Eiken scores for English proficiency for Japanese students. Minimum acceptable score on this test is completion of Level 2. Grade Pre-1 or higher is required for undergraduate degree programs. For more information on STEP Eiken, please see www.eiken-ryugaku.com.

2. Financial Support: Official bank letter/BCIS affidavit of support in the exchange rate of $15,500.00 U.S.dollars. |

6. $50.00 Non-refundable application fee payable to Folsom Lake College in the form of a check, money order, or cashier’s check. |
