Intel Summer 2017 Internship Information Session

Two Intel representatives will share tips on applying to these PAID summer internships for business related majors.

Join us for the 1st annual Folsom Lake College Career & Internship Fair on Wednesday, April 5th from 10am-1pm at the main Folsom campus in the Gymnasium.

Students will have the opportunity to explore career options, jobs, and internships, while introducing themselves and their resume to over 55  employers from throughout the region. These companies and organizations are specifically looking for community college students to hire for full-time and part-time jobs, in addition to internship and volunteer opportunities.

Participating organizations include: California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, CalPERS, City of Rancho Cordova, Folsom Chamber of Commerce & Folsom Tourism Bureau, Franchise Tax Board, Inductive Automation, Keller Williams Realty, The Phoenix Schools, PowerSchool, Primeritus Financial Services, Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), Target, Twin Rivers Unified School District, United States Forest Service, and many more!

Industries represented include: Business, Medical/Health, Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Human Services, Performing Arts, Environmental, Athletics, Administration of Justice, Technology, Government, and many more!

We recommend you dress professionally and bring copies of your resume. Some employers may even conduct interviews on site!

Volunteer at Mercy Hospital of Folsom

The FLC Internship & Work Experience Program has partnered with Dignity Health - Mercy Folsom's Emergency Department (E.D.) to recruit over 30 qualified volunteers for a one year commitment starting June 2015. These volunteers are considered part of the E.D. staff and are held to a high standard of professionalism. Volunteers will get experience in patient care and will have the opportunity to view procedures in the E.D. and be mentored by a nurse or physician. Upon completion of the year, you will get a letter of recommendation and valuable contacts in the medical industry.

Qualifications

  • be 18 years of age or older
  • have a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • successfully pass a background check
  • commit to a minimum of 1 year of weekly service

Training
Each volunteer receives an orientation to Mercy Hospital of Folsom, its mission, goals and departments. Specific-on-the-job training is given to volunteers until they are comfortable with their assignments.

Conversations with the Pros -- Spring 2017

"Conversations with the Pros," is a speaker series focusing on vocational career pathways. The series features a member of the FLC faculty paired with one or more experts from industry presenting on their career field, paired with a member of the Folsom Lake College faculty connecting classes and degrees to career fields. The presentations give students an insider's view to a variety of "hot" careers and strategies to embark on those careers.
