Hello Everyone,
On Wednesday, June 22 the classified senate met to rap up the 04-05 fiscal year. To inform those of you that could not make the meeting, below is a recap of important items that were discussed.
Classified Tour:
The proposed tour of our new facilities at FLC, on July 14th, has been pushed back to August 5th due to the release of facilities. For all of those who wish to join in, we will be meeting outside FLC Student Services at 11:00 and taking a walk through our beautiful new buildings. More information will be sent out.

Hiring Priorities Committee:
The hiring priorities committee is underway. This committee is designed to make recommendations and vote on hiring classified positions for the new fiscal year. Representatives include 4 supervisors and a senator from each area. For more information please contact your supervisor.
PG Committee Membership:
There are several positions still open on the Matriculation Committee and the senate will need to appoint two representatives to serve on the Institutional Planning Committee. If you wish to participate or need more information please call me at 5623. Please see attachment of our membership to date.
Correction:
At the last meeting we had talked about the grounds keeping and campus police being a separate entity which would limit their participation on the Senate. We would like to retract those statements and let it be known that all staff that work on the Folsom, El Dorado or Rancho Cordova campuses can serve on the senate. Sorry about the misunderstanding. With that, we need to hold a special election in the fall to elect a senator from Area 1.
What a busy and great year it has been! Looking forward to working as a team in the Fall.
