Prerequisite:

None

Schedule:

Full 16 week semester, Aug 27-Dec 20. M/W 2:00PM-5:05PM, lecture and lab.  FLC Main campus.

Course Number: TBD

Catalog Description:

Students will learn the graphical tools needed to develop and communicate engineering ideas. They will present three dimensional objects in drawings (basic drafting principles) and solve engineering problems by constructing views of objects from different points of view (descriptive geometry). Participants will create drawings using both pencil and paper and will practice applying it. This course is primarily for Mechanical and Civil Engineering majors.

What the Course is About and Why YOU Should Take It:

This is the stuff that several kinds of engineering disciplines use to design things, solve graphical design problems, and to communicate technical information.  We will use pencil and paper, 2-D design software, and 3-D solid modeling software.  There will be several design projects.   This course transfers to just most engineering programs.  It is also a good course to take to see if you like engineering.

Here’s a cool looking thing that you might want to make as a solid modeling project for this class:
