Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center at the Main Folsom campus in Cypress Hall FL2-236 offers students free drop-in tutoring in a variety of subjects, including accounting, biology, chemistry, English as a second language, mathematics, physics, statistics, and more. View the current tutoring schedule.

Science Center

Are you enrolled in a science class? The Science Center in Cypress Hall FL2-234 offers one-on-one mentoring and Biology tutoring.

We provide mentoring through the INDIS 314 and 315 Science Study Skills courses. These 0.5 unit courses offer one-on-one instructional sessions scheduled around your availability. Your experienced instructor will help you become better at learning science by teaching you how to:

  • Determine how you learn and study best by taking a learning assessment inventory.
  • Set learning goals and achieve them by learning and applying wise studying techniques and good time management.
  • Study effectively using skills such as annotating and paraphrasing, graphics reading, effective listening, and note-taking.
  • Raise exam scores by implementing strategies to improve memory, concentration, and attitude.

In addition, our Biology tutors are available at various times throughout the week to help you master challenging course topics.

Student Athlete Success Center

The Student Athlete Success Center in Physical Education PE-112 provides a comprehensive suite of instruction and services to support student-athletes as they seek to attain their educational goals, while representing the college in intercollegiate athletic competition.

The program provides student athletes with:

  • The support of a full-time athletics counselor.
  • A study center equipped with computers and study space.
  • An instructional aide available during the open hours of operation of the study center.
  • Tutoring for various subjects during open hours.
  • Academic progress monitoring through the use of grade checks.
  • An eligibility officer ensuring student athlete eligibility compliance.
